XDEX routes swaps across several pools
New Multi tab: one swap, several pools.
Jason · X1 Labs ·
XDEX, X1's main exchange, can split one swap across several pools. The swap panel now finds a path through intermediate tokens when that gives a better price than a direct trade, and runs it as one transaction.
How it works
Most X1 tokens have one pool, usually against XNT. To swap token A for token B, the router may go A → XNT → USDC.X → B, or split the trade across pools, choosing whatever returns the most after each pool's fee. The whole route lives in one transaction: either every hop happens or none of them do, so you never end up stuck holding a middle token.
Why it's good for X1
- Better prices. On a young chain liquidity is spread thin. Routing through the deepest pools can beat a direct swap in a shallow pool by a wide margin.
- More useful liquidity. Every pool against XNT or USDC.X becomes a path for every other token, so new tokens are tradeable against everything from day one.
- Less work for traders, who no longer have to do the hops by hand.
What to watch
- Each hop adds a pool fee and some price impact. Compare the route's output with the direct quote.
- Set slippage with care on long routes through thin pools.
- Aggregators such as FortiSwap and RipperSwap also route across XDEX pools. It is worth comparing quotes.
