Delegation Program requires Tachyon v4.0.3 from epoch 379
Nick P · X1 Labs ·
What to do
Update your validator to Tachyon v4.0.3 before epoch 379.
From epoch 379, the X1 Foundation's delegation program only delegates to validators running Tachyon v4.0.3. The deadline gave operators two days.
What it is
The Foundation delegation program spreads Foundation-held XNT across validators that meet a list of criteria. One of those criteria is the client version. The program's public configuration now sets the minimum to 4.0.3; a validator on an older version fails that check and stops receiving Foundation delegation until it upgrades.
Why it's good for X1
Feature gates can only switch on safely when almost all stake runs a client that understands them. A node on an old version would fall off the network the moment a gate it does not know activates. Tying delegation to the new version moves the last stragglers before that happens, so the gate rollout does not knock anyone offline.
What to watch
- Losing Foundation delegation does not touch your own stake or stake delegated to you directly.
- The client version is checked alongside commission (10% or less), vote credits, skip rate and self-stake. Upgrading is necessary but not the only requirement.
What to do
- Upgrade to Tachyon v4.0.3 using the release notes, fixing removed flags first.
- Check your status on the delegation dashboard at https://delegation.x1.xyz. A failing criterion is listed by name.
